Pierre Véronneau, born in Montreal in 1948, is a geographer and demographer (Msc) involved in international development and cooperation for more than 40 years. He is currently a consultant in social entrepreneurship and also in economic and social development.

After being a volunteer in Burkina Faso, he worked for several years with SUCO and was co-founder of the Canadian Organization for Solidarity and Development (OCSD), two Canadian overseas intervention NGOs. From 1993 to 2013, he was the Managing Director of Oxfam-Quebec and co-founder and member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Oxfam International.

Pierre Véronneau has served as Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Council for International Cooperation (CCIC), President of the Board of Directors of the Quebec Association of International Cooperation Agencies (AQOCI), a member of the Board and the Executive Committee of the Africa-Canada Partnership, -founder and member of the Board of the Canadian Humanitarian Coalition, a member of the Programming Committee and the Azula Foundation of the One Drop Foundation and a board member of Amnistie Internationale Canada Francophone. He is currently a member of the Gredic (International Development and Cooperation Reflection Group) and a member of the Strategic Council of the Institute for Confidence in Organizations.

He has participated in several national and international conferences on food security, access and water management, entrepreneurship and empowerment of women and youth, refugees and displaced persons and voluntary cooperation. He has traveled professionally in several countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
