Ygal Bendavid is a Professor at the Department of Management and Technology in the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Canada, where he teaches operations management and information technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal and a MSc in Technology Management.

His research interests include the adoption of automated identification technologies such as RFID (radio frequency identification) and their impact on organisations and supply chains.

In the last years, he has specifically focussed on RFID and real time location systems (RTLS) initiatives in hospitals. He is a frequent speaker at RFID Journal Live where he joined the board of “ask the experts”.
